Ma Bell...You're swell!

We finally have phone service again!!! Granted we both have cells, so we weren't communication-less, we just didn't have a land-line or internet connections for over a week! Actually, Eddie got some cable and hooked us up from the internet to the outside jack, so we did have internet!!! Sad thing about it...the phone rings now!!! bummer!!! We had enjoyed the peace and quiet. I don't think it will ring that much anymore. We'll see!!! So, we are surviving after working 2 whole weeks for over 40 hours!!! We enjoyed our first paychecks last week!!! Can hardly wait til this Wednesday...PAYDAY!!!! I guess we're old and spoiled! We come home after an over 8 hour day and we are so tired! Maybe we'll get the hang of it again and get something done when we come home!!!
It's Saturday! No work!!! Well, actually lots of work to be done at home...laundry, cleaning, blah, blah, blah! It's a special day!!! So we'll get ready for Sunday!!!!!

Could life be crazier?

Spent the weekend in St. George. Last Wednesday I helped my sister drive a 10' truck to Orem. The truck was filled with most of my Mother's worldly possessions. (I think that's spelled wrong, but I don't care! Well, I do or I wouldn't have written this, but anyway!) I drove most of the way to St. George last Wednesday. Betty drove from Barstow, CA to Stateline, NV. We spent the night in St. George and then Eddie drove the truck to Orem and we drove the Highlander! Eddie and I spent the night in Provo and then did some shopping on Friday and then drove back to St. George. Julie booked me a massage on Saturday at the St. George Day Spa. Yes, one of my favorites!!! It was delightful! We hung out with Julie and Bobbie and stayed for the first part of church on Sunday and then we drove home. Woke up bright and early Monday morning and started our new jobs!!! Our first day of work was over 11 hours!!! ugh! It's been awhile since I've worked out of the home and I swear I burried some brain cells at Rose Hills!!! There's so much to do at home right now, putting things back together, cleaning, finishing up Mom's estate stuff, etc. Working all day away from home does not provide a lot of time for any of the rest. God bless Patricia. She has brought us dinner the last two nights!!! She's an angel!!! We are blessed to have her in our lives. The work thingy is interesting. I've worked here and there when I could for Teddy before, but this is a committment for the next couple of months!!! We'll see how the work holds out! You never know with the fixture installation business. Sometimes there's something to do...sometimes there's not! We'll roll with the punches for now! New adventures just around the corner I'm sure!!!

Funeral was Beautiful!

Everything went really well for the funeral. It was beautiful! I know she approved! Broadway shows and Musicals in general were such a great love in her life, she actually got a Broadway send-off without us even planning it! Tender Mercies I believe!!! The final, finale at her graveside was just the icing on her cake! As my Brother was Dedicating her grave, a train whistle sounded....not just once...like three or four times. A sure sign that Dad has picked her up at the station! We all chuckled again, just as we did the night before as we said our good-byes!

Heavenly Father loves us and does bless us in ways that are so amazing. I'm grateful that he speaks to me through music. Music kept going through my head yesterday. The same lines over and over again. When I couldn't go back to sleep at 4:45 a.m. I decided to get up and find the music, so I could remember the rest of the song! I haven't heard this song in years!!! It's from EFY 1989. My Brother-in-law and Sister sent me the tape while I was on my mission. (No, it wasn't an 8-track!!) I will try and bold the lines that kept going through my head yesterday. Here are the lyrics:

I wonder what she looked like
Was she anything like me
There's got to be a part of her
Found inside of me
Are her eyes as blue as mine are
Can her smile warm all hearts?
I miss being so close to her
She's my life's greatest star.

Cradle me in your arms once again
Before you set me to walk
Please teach me how to stand
For there's nothing like
Mother's loving hands

In life I've done some growing
And I've partied on my way
I've seen things in this lifetime
That I'm glad have gone away.
And someday I'll teach my children
All the things she taught to me
To love each precious moment
And to stand firm and always believe.

Cradle me in your arms once again
Before you set me to walk
Please teach me how to stand
For there's nothing like
Mother's loving hands

I can feel her
I can know that she's near me.
Do her arms enfold my life?
Sometimes when the sun breaks through
I know that I'm seeing you
Longing to touch your face
You've cradled me in your arms once again
You set me to walk
Now I've learned hot to stand
For there's nothing like
Mother's loving hands.
For there's nothing like
Mother's loving hands.

Everything went well tonight at my Mom's viewing! Tender Mercies!!!! Laughter and Tears! Tomorrow should make for an interesting day!

I keep waiting for a huge earthquake to hit!!! I hope it doesn't!!! Although there are a lot of huge adjustments coming our way....so why not destruction too?!

It's only 9:57 p.m. It feels like 2:00 a.m.! I hope I sleep past 3:30 a.m.!!!
