Don't Hate Us!

Tomorrow after church we leave for the ShoreCliff Lodge at Pismo Beach.
We will be lounging around gazing at the ocean until Friday when we get to return to reality.

Have a lovely week. We will!

Happy Thanksgiving!

It's a very clear day in Los Angeles! This is the view from Rose Hills - Garden of Rest.
It really is clear, the camera's fuzzy!
We got up early so we could make a very important delivery!
Today is also my Dad's birthday! He got a great B-day present this year....my Mom!
The first Thanksgiving after my dad died, I took him a mincemeat pie. His favorite!
Because this is my Mom's first Thanksgiving away, I made her a pumpkin pie!
Can you guess what the other one is? I doubt you'll get it right!!!!

I made a submission to Cakewrecks!

Eddie and I were at Walmart this morning. We found the most hideous little turkeys in the bakery. They don't look very appetizing...but they do look like something that belongs on cakewrecks. If you look over at the side where my blog lists is...you will see cakewrecks. They update their blog everyday with Cake Wrecks! I already submitted pictures of our Turdkeys! Eddie wants to use them as centerpieces! They actually look cuter in the picture than they do in real life!!!!

Puddles!

Eddie's off at Stake Priesthood Meeting. Trying to survive the fridge dieing on us. Thinking of "da mudder"! I had to go to You Tube and watch her favorite GE commercial...the one with the elephant dancing to Singing in the Rain. Shortly after this commercial started airing, I got her a stuffed pink elephant that she named Puddles! It was very cute!!!

I've tried to attach the you tube video of the commercial, but I dislike the way it attaches all kinds of dumb stuff you don't want! Can someone explain to me how to attach only one You Tube video and not have to get stuff you don't want?!!!

I've wanted to put my favorite Fruit-of-the-loom commercial on for a long time...but same thing! I just want the one with Vince Gil! That song cracks me up. It sounds like something Everclean wrote/sang!

If you want to see either commercial go to You Tube or just Goggle: GE singing in the rain.
You can probably google: fruit of the loom vince gil and see the other one too!

A Cinderella Day

Today Eddie had to work and I didn't. Well... I didn't outside the house. I've washed all the laundry that Eddie hadn't got to. He does the laundry more than I do. I started working on cleaning out "da Mudder's" bedroom. Not an easy chore. I started hearing footsteps upstairs and it freaked me out so I broke out the DVDs!!! We started with the original people Cinderella starring Julie Andrews and then we went to Lesley Ann Warren as Cinderella. After that we went to Brandy as Cinderella. Half way through, I had to change rooms, so I started it at the beginning and watched it all, while I worked. Then it was time for The Slipper and the Rose. Eddie finally came home and so we went out and got something to eat for dinner and then it was back home and The Slipper and the Rose is back on and I'm thinking that I may torture Eddie with Ever After when it's over. It won't be torture though....he LOVES Ever After. (He's secretly a chick flick lover! Don't tell him I told!!! I think he likes Never Been Kissed as much as Ever After!!!) Hopefully by then I'll be asleep or we'll have to break out the Cinderella cartoon!!!
I did get a lot accomplished!!!! My back hurts, but that's from trying to clean up the garden which is a complete disaster!!!! Tomorrow I'm sending Eddie to NHRA at Pomona! He got free tickets. I told him to go and I could get more done with him gone!!!! It's a win-win!!!!

Thought for the Day

Those who need.....Receive

Those who receive......Work

Those who work.....Have

Those who have.....Give

I can't remember who said this. I know it was something on the BYU channel and I think it was during the Discussion on the Scriptures, but I don't rememeber what scripture, or if that was even the show. It could have been a Devotional or Education Week or Women's Conference. I just heard and grabbed a piece of paper and wrote it down! So...who ever said it...Thank You!

We are home!

I apologize at not keeping up with the blog. We have some cool pictures to post, but we got a new camera and they are too big. We're trying to get them resized so they will fit better!

We just returned home from a weekend in St. George. Julie got me a ticket to go to "Time Out For Women" so I went. We had a great time. We were supposed to come home on Monday, but we decided to do some shopping and then I knew we were too tired to start for home. We went back to the hotel and asked if we could stay an extra day and they said sure. So, we got a good night sleep (ha) and then took off around 7a.m. for home. We got home and went to work. Worked for 2 hours and now we're off until Friday. Woo Hoo! The project we were working ended on Friday. Not much to do now at work, so now we get to work at home. Eddie used some new stuff on the hard wood floors today. They look really good! We're trying to figure Thanksgiving out. I guess it will be at 2pm! I love cooking Thanksgiving. It will be weird this year without "da mudder" She was always entertained by our turkey antics! Have you seen the new chicken broth commercial with the chicken running down the aisle of the store. Eddie and I laughed so hard when we saw it the first time. It's the simple things!!! Well, when we get our photos resized, we will definately post!!!

Ma Bell...You're swell!

We finally have phone service again!!! Granted we both have cells, so we weren't communication-less, we just didn't have a land-line or internet connections for over a week! Actually, Eddie got some cable and hooked us up from the internet to the outside jack, so we did have internet!!! Sad thing about it...the phone rings now!!! bummer!!! We had enjoyed the peace and quiet. I don't think it will ring that much anymore. We'll see!!! So, we are surviving after working 2 whole weeks for over 40 hours!!! We enjoyed our first paychecks last week!!! Can hardly wait til this Wednesday...PAYDAY!!!! I guess we're old and spoiled! We come home after an over 8 hour day and we are so tired! Maybe we'll get the hang of it again and get something done when we come home!!!
It's Saturday! No work!!! Well, actually lots of work to be done at home...laundry, cleaning, blah, blah, blah! It's a special day!!! So we'll get ready for Sunday!!!!!

Could life be crazier?

Spent the weekend in St. George. Last Wednesday I helped my sister drive a 10' truck to Orem. The truck was filled with most of my Mother's worldly possessions. (I think that's spelled wrong, but I don't care! Well, I do or I wouldn't have written this, but anyway!) I drove most of the way to St. George last Wednesday. Betty drove from Barstow, CA to Stateline, NV. We spent the night in St. George and then Eddie drove the truck to Orem and we drove the Highlander! Eddie and I spent the night in Provo and then did some shopping on Friday and then drove back to St. George. Julie booked me a massage on Saturday at the St. George Day Spa. Yes, one of my favorites!!! It was delightful! We hung out with Julie and Bobbie and stayed for the first part of church on Sunday and then we drove home. Woke up bright and early Monday morning and started our new jobs!!! Our first day of work was over 11 hours!!! ugh! It's been awhile since I've worked out of the home and I swear I burried some brain cells at Rose Hills!!! There's so much to do at home right now, putting things back together, cleaning, finishing up Mom's estate stuff, etc. Working all day away from home does not provide a lot of time for any of the rest. God bless Patricia. She has brought us dinner the last two nights!!! She's an angel!!! We are blessed to have her in our lives. The work thingy is interesting. I've worked here and there when I could for Teddy before, but this is a committment for the next couple of months!!! We'll see how the work holds out! You never know with the fixture installation business. Sometimes there's something to do...sometimes there's not! We'll roll with the punches for now! New adventures just around the corner I'm sure!!!
