Land Ho! After 5 days at sea, it was nice to see land again. I was in awe of the traffic lights and cars. Hadn't seen any in 5 days...so it was exciting.
I loved that we had gained two hours, so we were always up before the sun and could watch the ship pull into port.
We couldn't dis-embark until after 8:00a.m. so of course we had breakfast. This is a typical breakfast for Eddie!!! Type 2 what????
The first stop on our shore excursion was the Macadamia Nut factory. Hershey has bought Moana Loa out and so yes, you can purchase Macadamia Nut kisses....but I didn't see any here at the factory. We picked them up on another island!!!
We had a cool bus driver/tour guide. He took us places that buses aren't supposed to go. He taught us all about the different types of lava and of course...VOG!
The above lava is called 'A'a. It is the stony rough lava. The lava beneath is called Pahoehoe. It is the smooth lava.

How cool! You make me want to visit Hawaii (which is actually something I've only ever been 'eh' about!)
