You know you're getting old when....

Eddie has had a fun few weeks. After our trip to Utah...with TOO MANY restroom stops, I drug him to the local clinic to have blood work done! It actually starts on Easter! We went to visit friends and were telling them of our great traveling experience and "lo and behold!" Tiny just happened to bring his blood sugar meter with him!!! So after some arm twisting...Eddie stepped up to the plate and let him poke him. Tiny said the meter read "C & H". Actually, his blood sugar was so high it wouldn't register! On Tuesday, at work, Teddy tested him and his blood sugar was at 482!!! Wow! It had come down!!! So that's how we found ourselves at the clinic having blood work done. It only cost $290. I wouldn't let him eat that morning, so his tests would have better results! His blood sugar that morning was 220 fasting! Last Friday we got the results from all the other tests! Eddie is border-line diabetic (Type II), I personally think they're being kind with the border-line thingy, but we'll see what he can do in 3 months to get it under control. He's on meds. 1/2 a pill in the morning and 1/2 a pill at night. His cholesterol is also high! (imagine that!) So he's on Crestor every day!
If that wasn't fun enough....as soon as he was diagnosed border-line... his left eye got cloudy! So today, he had a day off and we went to the Eye Dr.
$333 later and with dialated pupils, Eddie will now be proudly sporting....

Yes, Bi-focals! What's next? The eye Dr. also said he has cataracts (sp?) but they don't need surgery yet! Hopefully he'll have insurance before then!!!!

We are very grateful that he has been working steadily since April 3rd. The best part about this job is......a paycheck every Wednesday! It helps to pay for all the medical stuff!!!!

We have been very blessed! We see the Lord's tender mercies in our lives daily!

We are getting old though!!!
