Our Escape!

This past weekend we were able to escape to Utah! Thanks Yvonne for making it possible for us to go! Here are some random pictures from our trip! While trying to locate Hobby Lobby in South Jordan we found the Oquirrh Temple!!! I like the steeple on the ground. I think it looks like a dunce cap. Eddie says it looks like someone burried a Gnome!!!

We thought this temple would be closer to the mountains than it is! We were surprised how close it is to the Jordan River Temple. We did a session on Saturday at Jordan River and understand why another temple is needed so close!!!

Our purpose for going to Utah....Rachel's baptism!!! She was baptized by her dad, my oldest nephew, Nathan. I got to play the piano for the service!!!!

The party after the baptism had children everywhere!!! We enjoyed watching Hannah climb across the top and almost use Bryan as a stand!!!

This is the sign on Nathan and April's gate! It was a zoo!!! A very fun Zoo!!!!
We escaped from the baptism party and went to Heber to check out "our homestead!" The horses weren't very friendly, but they did come over and try to chew on my skirt!
Eddie had me take pictures of Deer Creek Reservoir as we were coming down the canyon!
The water is really low!!!
Sunday morning we got up and checked out of our hotel and went to Salt Lake for Music and the Spoken Word. Eddie had never been before! It was quite enjoyable!
After that we toured the Conference Center. Our tour guide was an 83 years old. Her name was Shirley Creer and she was born in Whittier, CA. Go figure! This is a picture of us in the conference center, not outer darkness!
This is the roof of the conference center! It's incredible how beautiful it is and how you can't even tell you're on top of a building. It looks like you're on a mountain! It was beautiful inside and out!
Next we went to the Church History Museum. This is Eddie at a replica of President Hinckley's Walnut Tree podium!!! In the primary exhibit they have a slice of the actual walnut tree too!!! We got to touch it!!! I like the Primary Exhibit. It's all for children!!! Hands on stuff! Very fun!
The flowers on Temple Square and the surrounding areas were so beautiful. We couldn't believe the size of the flowers!!! They were huge!
We couldn't go to Salt Lake and not go to the cemetary and see Pres. Hinckley's grave. We were there last October, but he wasn't yet! The poster there on the ground is a heart made out of children's hands! It was very sweet!
It says, "President Hinckley has touched our lives and our hearts!"
I'm sure a Primary Activity!!!
We love this cemetary because they have the coolest monuments.
This is the one we found this time!!!!
Cool Huh?!
Well, there's so much more to tell, but you'll have to wait until tomorrow!
